Mick Channon is a British retired football player and racehorse trainer. He was born on 28 November 1948 in Orcheston, Wiltshire, England.
He spent the majority of his career playing for Southampton, on two separate occasions (1965-77) (1979-82), making a total of 510 appearances, scoring a total of 185 goals and helped to earn the 1976 FA Cup. He played for the England national team (1972-77), making 46 appearances and scoring 21 goals. He also played for teams such as, Manchester City (1977-79) and Norwich City (1982-85). When he retired from the field in 1986, he took up his interest in horse racing and became a full-fledged trainer in 1990. During his career, he ended the 2002 season with 123 winners and one of his horses, Samitar, won the 1,000 Irish Guineas.
