Jasper Carrott is a British comedian, television presenter and actor. He was born, Robert Norman Davis, on 14 March 1945 in Birmingham, England.
He began his career path in music during the early 70s, performing spoof-style songs in various small clubs, but found his niche in comedy. This eventually led to his first television show, An Audience with Jasper Carrott (1978), which he hosted six episodes in the series and did a couple stand-up shows; The Unrecorded Jasper Carrott (1979) and Beat the Carrott (1981). He later joined the BBC and did some stand-up and sketch shows there, including Canned Carrott (1990-92). His most notable television work was as Bob Louis in the spoof police drama, The Detectives (1993-97), Colin Craddock in All About Me (2002-04) and he hosted the daytime game show, Golden Balls (2007-09).
