Pat Jennings is an Irish retired professional goalkeeper in football. He was born on 12 June 1945 in Newry, Northern Ireland.
He spent the majority of his career with Tottenham Hotspur (1964-77), making 472 appearances, he even scored a goal in the 1967 Charity Shield game and helped earn the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup during his time there. He was the first goalkeeper to earn the PFA Player of the Year award for the 1975-76 season. He had another lengthy term with Spurs rivals, Arsenal (1977-85), making 237 appearances as goalkeeper and helped to earn the FA Cup. He also played for the Northern Ireland national team (1964-86), making 119 appearances as goalkeeper and holds the record (in Northern Ireland) for most appearances during an international career.
