Paul Shane was a British comedian and actor. He was born on 19 June 1940 in West Riding of Yorkshire, England and passed away on 16 May 2013 in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England, aged 72.
He began his career path as an entertainer, singing at various pubs and clubs in his local area, this would also lead him to become a comic act. He made his television debut in a minor role on Centre Play (1976), and made many appearances on television throughout his career. His best known roles have been as, Ted Bovis in Hi-de-Hi! (1980-88), Alf Stokes in You Rang, M’Lord? (1988-93) and Jack Skinner in Oh Doctor Beeching! (1995-97). Some of his other acting work includes:-
